Abstract


This research aims to analyze an attempt to upgrade the Arabic rhetoric program and try to promote it for the members of the speech association in the program of the art of speech at the Riyadlul ‘Ulum Wadda’wah Islamic Instution. Speaking is one of the key skills in learning Arabic, and is of great importance in supporting effective communication. Speaking skill is also considered as the second skill after listening skill. And among the efforts to improve speaking skills is through the art of oratory. Speech activities not only train language skill, but also enhance courage, intonation accuracy, word choice, facial expressions, and body movements. This research is a type of qualitative research using the case study, because it should solve the problems in this research and prove their validity from the data obtained and call the case about the situation. The researcher used the data collection method namely interview, observation and test. Data were analyzed using Miles and Heberman’s theory which included: data reduction and presentation, checking any extraction of results in a systematic and continuous manner until the desired result is reached. Vocabulary, grammar rules and others from the point of view of the art of speech such as intonation, sound and substance, facial expressions and body movement, and that the lack of speaking skill efficiency among the members of the Association of Speakers is due to their focus on training on speech in Indonesian, Flow of oratory program.
