The Development of Teaching Materials for Oral Skills with the Theme "Baitii" in Arabic Language Learning
Abstract
The development of appropriate teaching materials is an important factor in supporting the success of language learning, especially in improving students' oral skills. This research aims to develop Arabic oral skills teaching materials with the theme "Baitii" (My House) that fulfill the characteristics of an independent curriculum, are interactive, and facilitate independent learning. The theme "My House" was chosen because it is close to the students' environment and experiences, making it easier to understand the vocabulary, expressions and sentence structures being studied. The interactive nature of teaching materials actively engages students in activities such as discussions, role plays, or projects, which encourage contextual use of oral skills. Ease of independent learning is achieved by designing user-friendly teaching materials, equipped with instructions, independent activities and additional learning resources. By following these four characteristics, the development of Arabic oral skills teaching materials with the theme "Baitii" is expected to be more effective, interesting and easily accessible to students, thereby improving their speaking skills in Arabic.
